Hot on the heels of David Burnett’s Soul Rebel: An Intimate Portrait of Bob Marley in Jamaica and Beyond, comes Bob Marley and the Golden Age of Reggae, another book of rare and previously unreleased photographs of the great man.

Photojournalist (and wife of Island Records US Publicity head Jeff Walker) Kim Gottlieb shot the recently solo Bob Marley in Jamaica and America between 1975 and 1976. She also snapped other reggae legends including Peter Tosh, Bunny Wailer, Toots Hibbert, Burning Spear, Justin Hinds, Max Romeo, the Heptones, Ras Michael, Jacob Miller and Inner Circle, Third World and Lee "Scratch" Perry.

Bob Marley and the Golden Age of Reggae will feature over 200 photographs of Bob and other crucial reggae performers. And according to the book’s press release, “most of the shots in Bob Marley and the Golden Age of Reggae have not been seen in over 30 years, indeed many of them have never been published at all.”

In addition, the book contains an overview on Jamaican music written by venerated archivist and historian Roger Steffens as well as recollections by music journalist turned filmmaker Cameron Crowe. Bob Marley and the Golden Age of Reggae is out in September 2010.
