Bob Marley Foundation

During his life, Bob had an open door policy at his home at 56 Hope Road. Here, he would sit on the steps as he patiently listened and provided assistance to just about everyone who sought his help. He would often pay school fees or medical bills, donate to a worthy cause or provide any other assistance as requested.

The museum continues to honour Bob Marley’s life and legacy through the Bob Marley Foundation which implements social intervention projects. These projects aim to preserve the spiritual, cultural, social and musical ideals that guided and inspired Bob Marley throughout his life. Since its inception, the Foundation has successfully implemented several projects all geared  towards transforming lives.

Marley for Education

To date, the Marley for Education programme has awarded scholarships of school books, school fees and school uniforms to approximately 2,000 students, aged 3-17, from depressed inner-city communities such as Seaview Gardens, Trench Town and Tivoli Gardens.

Help us to continue to educate our youths.

Marley for Music

Through the Music in School programme, the Foundation has renovated and outfitted music rooms at the world renowned Alpha Institute, and in the inner-city community of Paradise Gardens, downtown Kingston. These music rooms will assist talented youths to realize their musical dreams.

Help us to continue this mission.

Marley for Youth Empowerment

The Bob Marley Foundation has, since 2015, partnered with Partners for Youth Empowerment and Ben and Jerry’s Ice Cream to host the One Love Youth Camp. Each year, the camp brings 50 at-risk youths and facilitators together for a five-day life-changing and empowering residential camp experience. The Bob Marley Foundation also partners with Women’s Centre of Jamaica Foundation to provide computers to facilitate distance learning for girls living in rural Jamaica.

Help us to continue to empower our youths.

Marley for Health

The Marley for Health programme, has donated over JA$15.4M in equipment to the Bustamante Hospital for Children, The Victoria Jubilee and St. Ann’s Bay Hospital and the Women’s Health Network to boost healthcare delivery across Jamaica.

Help us to continue this mission.
